Oscar winner charged after fatal crash



Roger Avary, the Oscar-winning co-writer of 'Pulp Fiction', has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and drive under the influence after a fatal car crash northwest of Los Angeles.
Reuters reports that the crash occurred in the metropolis of Ojai, 80 miles (130 km) northwest of Los Angeles, at about 1am on Dominicus.
Thirty-four-year-old Andreas Zedini, a rider in Avary's railroad car, died of his injuries at a topical anesthetic hospital, Maitre d' Monica McGrath of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department said.
Avary's 40-year-old wife, Gretchen, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Headwaiter McGrath said Avary was released from slammer after posting $50,000 bail.
